On March 23, 1958, the television program What's My Line? featured Swedish actress Anita Ekberg, who passed away on January 11. Ekberg is best known for her role in Federico Fellini's La Dolce Vita (1960). Notable for Jalops, though, is the first contestant on this episode: Stirling Moss.

For those who don't know about What's My Line? , it was sort of a twenty questions arrangement where a celebrity panel would try to figure out the contestant's profession, their line of work. Stirling Moss was in the US at the time for the !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! , driving the Aston Martin DBR1. Unfortunately for Moss, and his teammate Tony Brooks, the DBR1 went out of the race in the 5th hour with a broken gearbox. You'll hear Moss speak briefly about it after the panel rather quickly discovers his line of work. Moss's answer to Bennett Cerf's final question, though, is priceless. Cerf asks Moss, "What do you think the best racing car is today?" As a driver, clearly, your favorite car is the one you're being paid to drive at the time.

This was an absolute surprise. On hearing of Ekberg's passing, I started searching for videos of her work. I started watching this episode, mainly to see the panel, and I was going to FF to Ekberg's appearance. Then Moss came on, and I thought, "Now why does this guy look familiar?" So I stuck around. What a neat surprise.

Great find. With only 40 views, you should just share it again to Oppo.

I think I will. Because race car, and because Anita Ekberg.
